The Splitlath Motorsport team joined the British Superbike Championship for the first time in 2010 after competing the previous season in the National Superstock 600 Championship.
The team launched an ambitious double attack on the Evo title running a pair of Aprilia RSV4s for the first time in BSB history, with Hudson Kennaugh finishing the season as runner up.
The team continued to field Aprilias in the 2011 championship with the team celebrating podium success in the Evo class.
With the London 2012 Olympics only months away it is highly appropriate that Derek Redmond joins the team as co-owner. Redmond is one of Britain's greatest ever 400m Olympic athletes, winning gold medals in World, European and Commonwealth championships.
The team have yet to score a points finish this season as they continue to focus on the development of the Aprilias, but with Aitchison replacing Marino and getting to grips with the UK tracks it won't be long before they do. Aitchison gave the team their best qualifying performance at Cadwell Park before sustaining a hand injury, but is hunting a strong end to the season. The team signed former WSB podium contender Jakub Smrz for the Showdown rounds of the Championship and he scored the team their first front row start. Both Aitchison and Smrz had some strong point scoring finishes to end the team's season on a high.
