The Padgetts Race team is highly regarded as a front-line attacker on the British scene, having competed in both the Supersport and Superstock classes and also on the roads including the Isle of Man TT.
The family run-team is led by Clive Padgett, the son of the joint founder of the Padgetts Motorcycle business Peter. Padgetts have worked with numerous top riders and have also competed in Grand Prix racing, including John Reynolds in the 500cc World Championship and Jay Vincent in European Championship action and 250cc Grand Prix. The Padgetts team can claim the rare honour of having taken TT wins in every decade since the 1960s.
Among those who have raced and won under the Padgetts banner include Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, Carl Fogarty Leon Camier, Ian Hutchinson and John McGuinness.
The team celebrated in sensational style their first win in the class at Thruxton as Lowry stole the show. Scassa continues to learn the UK circuits and he is expected to secure his first podium in the championship very soon as both riders are set to challenge for the top six in the Showdown.
Everyone in the Padgetts race team are really looking forward to being back racing in the premier class. The decision to move into Superbike was prompted by the new rules and we will continue to race in the Metzeler National Superstock Championship alongside BSB. We are really excited about working with Ian and Luca. Ian has shown massive promise in the past and we would like to reignite that this year, whilst we have followed Luca’s career for several seasons and he has a real passion for racing. This line up and our return to Superbike was meant to be and we are all ready to get things started!
