Knockhill Racing Circuit in Fife is Scotland's national Motorsport centre. The circuit is located in the Fife countryside about 10 miles north of Dunfermline. The track, initially opened in 1974, is 1.3 miles long and was created by joining service roads to a nearby disused railway. Since the 1980s Knockhill has been extensively developed to a point where it is able to host rounds of most of the major British car and motorcycle racing championships. Today Knockhill offers a range of motorsport facilities in addition to the original circuit, including an off-road track and rally stage.

Race one:
Michael Rutter took his first victory in two years following a second restart. The race initially got underway with pole-sitter Josh Brookes taking the hole shot ahead of James Ellison who had his second place stolen from him by Rutter. The race was then red flagged when torrential rain fell. The race was restarted with Ryuichi Kiyonari taking the lead but his team-mate Brookes retook the place. Dan Linfoot crashed out and his Motorpoint Yamaha collected Chris Walker and the race was red flagged. The race was restarted for a second time and Brookes once again took lead from Kiyonari and Rutter with the Ducati rider then moving second. Kiyonari was on the attack and passed Rutter to move second again. Kiyo then moved ahead of Brookes to take the lead. Rutter went second and had his sights firmly set on the win and moved to the front to claim victory with Kiyonari second and Brookes in third. Michael Laverty finished fourth after starting from the fifth row, holding off Alastair Seeley with John Laverty on the Buildbase Kawasaki in a lone sixth. Championship leader Tommy Hill could only manage an eighth as he dropped down the order during the race, but crossed the line equal to Gary Mason.
Race two:
The second race was forced to be abandoned due to the weather conditions, including high gusts of winds, despite the tireless efforts of the circuit staff and officials throughout the day. The race initially got underway but was red flagged when Simon Andrews crashed and David Johnson, Aaron Zanotti, Andrew Pitt, Gary Johnson and Chris Walker all ended up in the gravel. The race was due to be restarted but as the weather conditions continued to deteriorate in the interest of safety it was forced to be cancelled. The race moved to Snetterton with the grid positions remaining as per the second Knockhill race.
