Brands Hatch is one of the most iconic sporting venues in the world and can lay claim to being the busiest race circuit in Europe.

Having undergone a series of major improvements in recent years, the Kent circuit now attracts some of the biggest international events on the calendar. Ever since starting out as a dirt track motorcycle circuit in 1926, Brands Hatch has been characterised by its natural ampitheatre, with virtually the entire 'Indy' configuration visible from the spectator banking and grandstands.

A firm fans' favourite, Brands Hatch has also witnessed a number of significant moments in history.

Race one:

Worx Crescent Suzuki celebrated the first win of the season as Tommy Hill fought to victory, holding off the hard-charging pole-sitter Ryuichi Kiyonari on the HM Plant Honda. Kiyonari had a flying start to take the lead from Hill with Stuart Easton in third. Kiyonari was coming under pressure from Hill and once ahead the pair diced through back-markers and Hill took the win. Easton, Josh Brookes, Alastair Seeley and James Ellison fought it out for the final podium position, with Ellison taking the final podium spot.

Race two:

Swan Honda's James Ellison took the second win following an incident-packed race from Hill. Ellison led ahead of pole-sitter Josh Brookes. Ellison became under increasing pressure from Hill throughout the race, but Hill was forced to settle for second. Ryuichi Kiyonari suffered an electrical problem which forced him out of the race as did Gary Mason. Tommy Bridewell crashed out at Druids whilst Chris Walker and Dan Linfoot tangled at Graham Hill Bend with both crashing out. Ellison, Hill and Brookes were inseparable, but Brookes crashed the HM Plant Honda at Druids. Seeley had moved to third after Brookes' crash, giving the rookie and the Relentless Suzuki by TAS team their first podium in the Superbike class.
